Reasons why you should finally stop giving a f*ck

When we are younger nothing much seems to concern us. All that bothers us is whether we'll get our turn on the swing in the park or if we'll get our favorite toy to play with. As we grow older and people around us begin to change, our attitude and outlook towards life also undergo a drastic change. Things that did not matter at one point, now become all important and we're driven by what society thinks of us. No decision is taken for oneself but always with a larger audience in mind. However, there comes a point in time when we finally realize that no matter what we do, the world is going to think differently. It is then that we really stop caring about what the world thinks and do what pleases us.
Listed below are several reasons why you should stop giving a f*ck.
Do their opinions really matter?
When another's opinion of you is all that matters, you stop living for yourself but for what other's think. Your image becomes your prime concern and you're driven by the need to be accepted and stand out. It's important to realize that no matter what you do, someone is always going to judge you.
You can be wrong too
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and trying to prove that you are right all the time is a very narrow way of looking at things. Everything is not black and white all the time.
Be comfortable with your body
Body shaming has become the norm these days. As such, many people tend to stress about that perfect figure and try numerous products to get to the perfect size. Marketing gurus and advertising tycoons have learned to manipulate the public into believing that a perfect body will make a shattering difference to your life. So long as you have a healthy body, and go through a regular exercise regime it's okay not to be a size zero.
Wear what you like
Your fashion is your own. Wear whatever you're comfortable in and don’t allow society to dictate how you should dress. If you want to wear those high heels go ahead and do it, as long as you are comfortable.
Don’t dwell in the past
You can’t change your past and neither can you bring it back. Instead, focus on living in the present – the here and now.
Giving a damn about gossip
There will always be something or someone that you disagree with but it’s pointless wasting your time and energy in gossiping about it. There is more to life than carrying grudges.
You don’t need another's approval
You are responsible for your own life. Don’t live life stressing about what someone else thinks about you. If your life hangs on someone’s approval you’ll most likely face rejection.
Watch your inner circle
Surround yourself with positive people. People that are detrimental to your well-being should be kept at a distance. Move on from toxic relationships without looking back.

It's okay to fail
Almost everyone has faced failure at some point in their lives. Use your failures to push yourself forward. Learn from your mistakes. Not everyone is perfect and it’s okay to fail.
Staying in on a Friday night
Why should a night out on Friday night be mandatory? If you want to curl up on the sofa with a good book or watch a movie at home, do it. It isn’t necessary to be seen at the bar or be at a night club every Friday. It’s okay to do your own thing.
Pressures of social media
Social media has created a new generation of people obsessed with being put on a pedestal and worshipped. Adulation is the new norm and the number of likes and shares on a post are checked every few minutes. Stop obsessing over the number of likes you garner. It’s perfectly okay to share something on social media and get only single-digit likes for it.
You can't have it all
No matter how big your bank balance is, there will always be someone with more than what you have. Be content with what you have and stop envying the grass on the other side.
Revenge isn't always sweet
Why waste your time in trying to get even with someone? By the end of it, you're not even going to feel good about what you've done because the regret of hurting someone will eventually get to you.
The uncertain future
Be proactive go ahead and do what your heart tells you to do instead of speculating on what could go wrong. The future will always be uncertain; you just need to be ready to risk it.
Material things
Money makes the world go around but it isn’t everything. When realizing that relationships and special moments are far more valuable than the material things you possess, you’ll be a lot happier.
Measuring up to another person
Why should you set your standards by what others think of you? You’ll never measure up to a person’s opinion of you no matter what you do because more often than not, the person is just trying to goad you on. Live by the principles that you have set for yourself and not what another person expects of you.
Own responsibility for your actions. Remember that you took the choice in the first place. If it hasn't worked out the way you planned, it is okay to move on. You cannot change what happened and sitting with regret is not going to make a big difference. Think about the consequences of your actions before you decide to act. In that way, you won't regret anything.
