Study claims that attending a concert once every two weeks can add nine years to your life

Science has some good news for all the music buffs out there, especially those that love the throb and feel of being at a live concert. Jumping around to the sound of the beats, shouting out the lyrics at the top of your voice and being pressed against a crowd of enthusiastic sweaty people all has its benefits. A new study claims that it could increase your life-span by almost a decade.
The study which was conducted by O2, the owner of some of the biggest music places in the UK, and behavioral science expert Patrick Fagan, revealed these interesting facts. The reason for reaching this conclusion was that listening to live music had a positive impact on a person's self-worth. It not only increased a person's self-worth but also stimulated the mind, and increased the feelings of closeness to others. All these factors contribute to an individual's overall sense of well-being.
This led the research team to arrive at the conclusion that there was a positive correlation between attending gigs and a sense of well-being, which could contribute to increasing a person's life span by at least 9 years.

Psychometric tests and heart rate tests were used on participants to determine the results of the study. What was observed after the study was that there was a twenty-five percent increase in the feelings of closeness to others and a person's self-worth? A seventy-five percent increase in mental stimulation was also observed in these participants.
The study further stated that just 20 minutes of experiencing a gig could result in a 21% increase in feelings of well-being. The conclusions drawn from the study led researchers to prescribe attending a gig every fortnight to increase your life span by another 9 years. If you adhere to this formula it could result in an increase in your productivity, satisfaction with life and joy leading to a sharp incline in self-esteem.
"Our research showcases the profound impact gigs have on feelings of health, happiness, and well-being - with fortnightly or regular attendance being the key," said Patrick Fagan.
